ABOUT RU

Capturing the extreme moods of natural and wild landscapes, Ru uses vibrant colour to capture a sense of light and energy. Trips to the Scottish Highlands, especially the Isle of Skye and the Isle of Raasay feed her work, with the Crofts and Bothies that sit in the landscape so comfortably, often in isolation, always looking out over an incredible view. Ru experiments with materials like acrylic, acrylic ink and loads of water, layering colours and textures to see how far she can push each medium. Through her work, Ru communicates the emotion, wildness and dynamism of these beautiful landscapes that she finds so captivating.

Ru lives on the edge of the Cotswolds with her family and their dog.
